Please don't post this ill-informed, enraging claptrap.
It's full of inaccuracies and does not help. Here's just a few easy ones...
US government\companies helped replace the railways because of the long-term
monetary return (and, in the case of post WWII damage, the USAF were the
ones that caused most of the damage in the first place.. anyway there was a
war on)
Many international airlines use Airbus Industries planes, French and Italian
companies use French and Italian made short-range aircraft. Up until
recently, due to US government tax bys, grants and cheaper resources, Boeing
(and to a lesser extent McDonald Douglas) pretty much had the market
cornered for long-range airliners. They've kicked up a huge fuss now that
Airbus are bringing out their own long-range airliner because Airbus has had
EC assistance. Pot, kettle, black form themselves into a well-known phrase.
The San Francisco earthquake was at a time when it would've been difficult
to get timely aid to the city even from two or three states away.
The USA is a country that has a great capacity to help others but it is it's
people that need our support and sympathy at this distressing time, not
ignorant backslapping from a toadying politician.
My sympathies to all affected and I hope that the US government and NATO
think long and hard about any response they may formulate.
