OK, two little pieces of information and we are getting closer
One.
best 4.2 Baselin & printer lin.
and two
I was a little concerned about the printed target as it was pretty clear that
there was no ink limiting applied to the output target it'self. Seemed like
that was only applied at the time of profile creation. I'll check with the
publishers to verify that. However, the sopping wet patches didn't leave the
paper flat and yes they were highly reflective!
The BEST baselin has a bug. When you create your own baselin it will
ignore your ink limiting and pee all over the page - sorry but I'm a
little punchy and you are getting the unprofiled metaphors today.
This tends to whack out the target and if your profiling application
cannot apply ink limiting to the target prior to printing, then you
may be losing tons of information in the puddles and having precious
few decent patches left over. At the very least I could see it
causing banding and other problems.
Try with a stock baselin file (or none at all) and see if you can get
a better target out. That may be the road to success.
And send them over, I'd love to take a look.
Regards,
Steve
