Scott,
There are two likely causes for your warm red problem:
1. All the RGB color spaces you mention, Adobe RGB, sRGB and ColorMatch RGB
have a warm Red coordinate, based on the warm red phosphor used in average
CRT monitors. Most printers and printing presses can produce a much wider
range of saturated reds than any of these spaces, which is why I never
recommend them. If you start with data in any of these RGB spaces, or
convert images into any of these spaces before outputting them, the Pictro
will never be asked to reproduce cold saturated reds. You can test if this
is your problem by trying a wider RGB space like DonRGB4 or BestRGB - both
of which are free at www.hutchcolor.coms.
2. ProfileMaker Pro is an excellent software in most respects, but it
always seems to create printer profiles whose saturated cold reds have too
much yellow and not enough magenta. To solve this I always apply a small hue
correction in Profile Editor to very saturated reds after building a printer
profile in ProfileMaker. GretagMacbeth have been shown this problem at
several high-end prepress houses and I believe (hope) they are working on an
improved gamut-compression algorithm. You can test if this is your problem
by profiling with MonacoProfiler, which reproduces cold saturated reds more
pleasingly.
Let me know if either of these work.
Don

Could you folks that have a profile for a Fuji Pictrography 4000 (wonderful
