Thanks for suggesting "save settings".
For scanning an IT8, you should use "device link LUTid ICC" in
RGB mode, no sharp (SmartScan 3.0). That's all I have found in the
online training site.
From my observations: Use a frame if you scan with frames and crop the
IT8 with no frame
or clear glass, otherwise auto exposure will mess it.

Well I just found out that the "embed profile" action is linked to a
check box that you get when you open the "option" menu in the format
choice window that you get before starting the scan. Not very handy
as you have to set it again for each scan. Would be better if it was a
general option in preferences, but at least it works.

.... It stays selected when I scan... you might try "save settings"
under the file menu. Does anyone know how to disable all of Scitex's
settings when you want
to create a profile? The manual is kind of vague on that subject. I
could only guess and I wasn't quite satisfied that it was correct.
Thanks,
