How is it possible to "decouple" the Illuminant of a Standard CIE
Colorimetric measurement and instead make that measurement "relative" to the
paper?
For example, start with D50/2 absolute measurement of 100% Cyan. Say, Lab =
54, -34, -40. Some cyan. You mean to tell me that I should convert that CIE
Lab value back to CIE XYZ, chop off the XYZ(D50) Illuminant from that
measurement, and then incorporate the XYZ(paper substrate) white point,
somehow, and that will make what was an "absolute colorimetry" an "relative
colorimetry"?
How do you interpret that, conceptually?
