Thanks Stephen
I have tried this method, but it just doesn't work on my configuration.
In Profiles mode, there is no way to save settings (message " can not
save settings because one of the tables is custom") and if I try edit
the image, button switches from "profiles" to "device link" (non-ICC
scanning). Maybe I would be better off with the latest version (I have
3.0). If I try the preconfigured "smartsets" I get the message files
corrupted. Probably needs a clean install instead of just upgrading.
Paul,
Some more Eversmart advice. When upgrading definitely delete the old
version(s) including all preferences, install the new software than
re-calibrate the scanner. (with that Scitex calibration thing) You
can save your smart set you just need another step. When you change
one of the "tables", endpoints, color etc... you have to save that
change (before you close the dialog) Now that all your "tables" have
names, even though they are custom, you can save the smart set which
incorporates them all. It's ok that the software switches to device
link. It is still using the profile it's just adding your additional
tweeks. Example: I'm scanning transparency X. I start by selecting
Profiles workflow and preview a few of my scanner profiles. After
picking the one which looks the best I make hand adjustments. First I
adjust the white and black endpoints, then I might make a few
selective color tweeks, then maybe an LS curve. If I think this whole
package of settings will be handy to keep around I save the settings
from the last dialog. I now have a "Device Link" which incorportes
the profile, the end points, the color tweeks, and the LS curves all
in one. I convert to my working/archiving space within the scanning
software so when I open in Photoshop for final adjustments the files
are generally nearly perfect.
