I run a digital imaging lab at a small community college and we're interested in
purchasing a hardware and software combo to create color profiles for our
monitors, scanners and printers. Our lab is almost exclusively Mac based with
the exception of an NT RIP server running ColorByte Software's' ImagePrint RIP.
I'm leaning heavily towards MonacoProof 3.5 for our profiling app. Most of our
printers are Epson Stylus's InkJets (890, 1280, 2000p & 5500) and a Fuji Pictro
3000 Dye Sub printer. We drive one Epson 1280 and a 5500 with the ImagePrint
RIP (These RIP driven printers are currently profiled as RGB, not CMYK devices).
I've read many good comments about the GretagMacbeth EyeOne spectrophotometer on
this list and was wondering if anyone has used it with MonacoProof 3.5. Any
comments on this combo or similarly priced units such as X-Rites' Digital
Swatchbook or Spectrostar's' Spectrocam for use with MonacoProof would be
welcome.
