Ummm, GretagMacbeth's Eyeone has been native to OSX for a couple months now
and should solve the above problem.

Any one tried 'ProfileMaker Pro 4.0 MAC OSX Beta' yet ?
Runs great - just like you'd expect it to. I've been using PMPro 4.0 in
classic mode the past 4 months and the OSX native version runs just as
smooth. Only issue is with my GO-COM usb/serial adaptor I use with my
Spectrolino. GO-COM doesn't have OSX drivers yet, so I had to get a Keyspan
which works fine.
If you have a 4.0 dongle, a public beta of the OSX version is at:

y&id=6883&code=d&typ=product
Be sure to also test the multitasking of OSX. While you're reading in a
target or calculating a batch of profiles, go and copy some files, surf,
download stuff and answer some email.
Now does anyone know when the finalized Photoshop 7.0 is going to ship?
