Profiles describe the system they measure... so for monitor profiles you need
to build the profiles on the computer, and with the videocard, that will be
used. For inkjet profiles the target can be printed with the system in
question, including settings like resolution and dithering, then the profile
can be build on a different system, even on a different platform. Just be
sure your Mac-built profiles end in .icc or .icm; its a bit more complex in
reverse due to Mac file type and creator codes...
