The software I'm using to calibrate my monitors and create the profiles
is >ColorBlind Prove it!.....I can't work out whether I should change
the curve >shape values so that the RGB lines are all together or
whether it's done >that for me already and just showing me how far out
they were (as the blue >is out a lot!)
The "RGB Curves Display" at the end of the ProveIt! "Calibration" is
designed to give you visual feedback of the resultant calibration. If
you set your hardware level color temperature to 6500 K and calibrate
through ProveIt! a dramatic drop down of the blue gun indicates that the
hardware 6500 is not 6500. You can find out exactly if you "Auto
Calibrate" and measure the hardware white point yourself.
In order to more effectively balance the RGB guns in calibration, we
recommend "Auto Calibrate" then "Auto Profile". In "Auto Calibrate" you
have an option of measuring hardware "white point". If your monitor
gives you individual control over your RGB guns, you can physically
balance the RGB guns to the desired color temperature (K) and luminance
(Y). *This is our version of Optical's 'PreCal'. Once the RGB guns are
balanced from a hardware level, ProveIt's resultant calibration will
yield RGB curves much closer to each other because the software only
needed to make minor adjustments to balance RGB for the desired color
temperature.

does anyone know if it is possible to uninstall Prove it! after (on

either PC or Mac) and still use the profile?
Yes, with version 4.0 (Windows) an uninstall feature is resident;
however, it also uninstalls the "LUT loader" necessary to load the
profile upon startup. With version 4.2 (Mac) there is no resident
uninstaller.
