I would not bother to go over 600 patches in CBpro. Now, there is absolutely
no relationships whatsoever between grid points and the number of patches on
a given target. And you can't say that grid points and profile performance
are correlated either.
To minimize # of patches, you could use a SpectroScan or a handheld device
like a Digital Swatchbook.
