Can anyone from this list shed some light on the reason for Epson having
so many Stock Media profiles for this new printer. After looking at
them all with Steve Upton's "ColorThink" V2.0, it is simple to see
that the data used to create the following media profiles.... SP2200
premium Glossy_PK, SP2200 Premium Luster_PK and SP2200 Premium
Semigloss_PK ...are spectrally all the same. If there is a difference,
it doesn't show up in the the 3-D Viewer or 2-D *L Slicer tool. Am I
missing something here... or is there something else going on like...
(Smoke & Mirrors) ...from Epson. We all know that these various media
(Papers) have different paper base spectral data, UV brightners
responses, etc..
There is also a similar case to be made with two other media profiles
being cut from the same data....SP2200 Enhanced Matte_PK and SP2200
Velvet Fine Art_PK ...along with ... SP2200 Enhanced Matte_MK and SP
2200 Velvet Fine Art_MK.... with the obvious difference showing up
between "_PK" and "_MK" in the shadow areas of the Lab 3-D viewer.
Check out all the profile creation "date and time" info, especially
"time"!!!!!!! Fast work done there....
Why are there two SP2200 Standard profiles one with "_PK" and the other
with "_MK" when the data for both appears to be the same .... I realize
that this standard profile as being as close to mathematical perfection
....was probably manufactured, fabricated or possibly created in the
mind of techno digithead ....but shouldn't they display a slight
difference between the black inks??? Riiiiight!!!!
The above issue seems to also hold true for the Epson 7600 media
profiles as well.... I haven't had time to check them all out.... a very
long list.
Also.... what's the lists thoughts on that new ......( Ink Config...)
button. Looks very interesting!!!!
All aside, both the 2200 and 7600, do make very niiiiice images.
All the best,
-Paul
