A 6500k light source is one aspect of D65, but only one. The two should not
be siginificantly different when used to define white for a monitor, however.
The better choice for most uses is to define your white balance in PreCAL
instead of OptiCAL, then use the native white point in OptiCAL. In PreCAL you
can see visually what the Red, Green, and Blue components of these or any
other white balance will be, simply by changing the chosen white target after
making the initial PreCAL readings.
