I don't know about any flatbed scanners for scanning large quantities of
slides, but I looked around for a slide scanner for that purpose many months
ago. You would need to look up the current info on it, but here's what's in
my notes:
Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 ED
Approx $2,550.00
With adapters that allow you to scan, unattended:
50 slides at a time
An uncut roll of 35mm film w/40 frames max
And
FYI:
RFS 3600 Film Scan (by Kodak, I think)
$700-800
36-frame roll of film at a time
I have a Polaroid SprintScan 4000, and with the attachments I have (maybe
there's more attachments available now, I don't know) I can batch scan only
4 slides at a time, with the scanner unattended.

Subject: Flatbed scanner recomendations
Color Geek Colleagues,
Our company is quoting on a scan job that
involves scanning 3000 35mm slides to start.
(more to come as we go along )
Wondering if anyone could give me some recomendations
on a Flatbed scanner with slide loading automation
and good software?
We presently use a Fuji/Crosfield Celsis 6250
Drum Scanner for all scanning, but I feel that the
setup and takedown time involved may make the
Quote - Cost Prohibitive to Client.
Client says Flatbed - 2400ppi is sufficient.
Thanks in advance,
Michael Walsh
