Hello all,
after lurking for quite some time, I tried color managing
QuarkXPress 4.11, all in all with great success (kudos to everybody
contributing here, your wisdom has helped a lot avoiding common
pitfalls).
Macintosh G4/400, Iiyama 8221 screen, calibrated to 6500K and profiled
by LaCie blue eye 3.5. Color management within QXP, setup for news print,
is working completely according to my expectance -- except for Pantone
colors.
Pantone Solid to Process, P. Process, and P. Process Uncoated work o.k.,
but Pantone Coated, P. Matte, and P. Uncoated are causing me headaches.
The last three aren't (and cannot be?) color managed at all, but
why are swatches displayed *way* to light at the "Edit Color"
dialog? Once a color is chosen, it displays reasonable in the preview field
(labeled "New") and in layouts.
Is this a known bug of QXP, or a sign for a somewhere flawed setup
at my side?
TIA for your wisdom,
-Thomas
