Sorry Andrew, I thought it was v1.0 that you'd seen. I left FFEI in October
2001 so am not up with the latest news, but I'd be happy to contact someone
there to ask about the OSX upgrade. I've not seen it myself yet, but plan to
do so in the new year. Going back over my old notes, I see it is the upgrade
from 2.1.1 to 2.3 which contained fixes for many of the main issues raised.
I'm sorry you didn't like ColourKit, I wish I was able to work with you on
it as I think it is a great piece of software. In the quality testing done
before I left we produced unedited facsimile scans off both 'good' and 'bad'
images, and the colour negative work done for 2.3 was brilliant. Maybe being
so close to it distorts my view, but I'd happily defend it knowing how well
it can work.
ProfileMaker does have it's issues, but I get good results off it. However,
I know the software well, and I'm sure this helps my impression of it.
ColourKit scored well in Dr Abhay Sharma's report on profiling software
which was published with a note on this list earlier this year, he can be
contacted at email@hidden for a copy of it.
I have been using ColourKit ProfileMaker professionally for over a year now
and have profiled a range of input, monitor and output devices successfully.
I am aware that there are stronger profile making products on the market,
but for me I am happy to use it, and I have certainly had no complaints from
my customers.
Cheers,
Linda

Also, how on earth can Fuji call this product "ProfileMaker"?

At the time testing was done on 2.1.1, the GUI was quite a mess IMHO but

worse, the quality of the output profiles was nothing to write home about.

I'd love to find both issues being addressed but have no evidence that this
