Thanks for your help.
*My CMYK working space is my custom accurate offset print space (glossy
paper)
*We also have good custom Offset print profile for Matt paper.
'Cos our Film output/printing house doesnt do CM, so if i want to print
to Matt paper later, should i
1: (RGB to CMYK thr MODE menu, now the embeded profile is offset print
space (glossy paper), then use CONVERT TO PROFILE menu to convert the
file from this to Offset matt paper spcae? (This will change to file
color number)
OR
2: (RGB to CMYK thr MODE menu, now the embeded profile is offset print
space (glossy paper), and just pass the photoshop file to them for
printing to Matt paper?
What i think is that method 1 make more sense, because printing house
doesnt do any CM, so i better CONVERT the color (thr CONVERT TO
PROFILE) for them first, then discard the file embeded profile (for
safe) before pass the file to them. Now i can softproof with the Matt
paper profile, click "keep color number" option.
If my printing house does CM corrcrtly, i can pass the file without
COLOR CONVERTED, cos they will do it anyway.
Is my CM concept right?
Thank you very much.

and Photoshop setting?
Yes, when you want to convert RGB images to this space using "Mode
Change->CMYK" or if someone provides an untagged file that you hope to
view
on screen going to that device you've profiled.
2: If i want to offset print a photoshop file, should i ***convert the
profile*** to that offset print ICC profile first (if my CMYK working
space is different than that ICC profile), then pass the file to them
(i think they will discard it). OR just pass the photoshop file with
my
WORKING CMYK profile embed? (they will discard it cos they dont do any
color management)
I always worry when I hear this from a shop so here is what I'd do.
Use the
profile to do an RGB to CMYK conversion but don't embed that profile
in the
files you give them or they will likely have a hissy fit. Since the
conversions were done using the custom profile (and I'm assuming it's
a good
profile - accurate, and their device really behaves consistently based
on
the profile, the resulting CMYK should be fine.
