Can not use profiles with Epson 1280

  • Subject: Can not use profiles with Epson 1280

I have a problem which seems to make it impossible for me to use any
profile. Right now I am trying to use a Monaco custom profile, but the
same problem occurs with any profile. I am using an Epson 1280 with
Photoshop 6.1 on a Mac G4. When I select any proile in the Print Space, for
example 3Epson 1280 Colorlife 28803, then Advanced/ Color Management/ No
Color Adjustment, the image turns strikingly Pink. The exact same thing
happens when I do Image / Mode / Convert to Profile. The preview looks fine
using a profile, but when I do the actual profile, the image again turns
strikingly pink. The only way I9m able to get an acceptable print is to do
Print Space/ No Color Management and under Advanced to use Colorsync/
Profile-Epson Standard. It is my impression that in this case I get the
same results whichever profile I use. As a consequence of all this, I can
not use my custom Monaco profiles or any other profiles, having to rely
completely on Media Type to control the printing process. I do believe that
it was exactly the same with my earlier Epson 1270. Hope someone has some
idea what the problem is.

Martin
