Correct, Epson does not sell dye inks for the 5500. That was why I suggested
the two ink companies at the bottom of my first post: they make various inks
for Epson printers, including the 5500. The initial post stated that the user
wanted other ink solutions and had a 5500 already; rather than stick it in
the closet and go looking for another printer it makes sense to develop a
system that suits the needs with the printer at hand. I regularly print with
(and build profiles for) assorted third party dye and pigment inks for a wide
range of Epson printers.
