Actually, Photoshop +Epson QuickDraw driver gives me better results on color-managed .pdf than anything else I've yet discovered. I wish it weren't so. I'm not philosophically opposed to the use of RIPs. I just want one that gives me at least as good results as I get from the QD driver, and with a user interface that doesn't make Photoshop's Proof Setup look like the paragon of clarity...

...and it would be nice if it didn't cost ten times as much as teh devices it was going to drive.

I'm still waiting.
