Hey!!! I've got a great idea: probably making the cartridges removable and
replaceable adds cost into a printer design. Contacts, cartridge detection
sensors, cartridge replacement logic in the printer, etc.
So, they could basically build disposable printers, ink included. No
"cartridge" but fixed tanks. The saved cost could allow to put three to four
times as much ink fluid in the printer than in a disposable cartridge.
If you make your numbers, it will result in a lower cost per print than
changing ink cartridges every such time, and with the added benefit of being
able to renew techology every time you run out of ink.
It wouldn't be much friendly to the environment, though... :(
Maybe they could recycle the printers into something?
