Sorry, In my mind, the sRGB should give a WP very near le D65, but a little
bit different.
You are right, and I confirm that the D65 is the natural white point of the
sRGB primaries.
After checking, the 3 primaries of the sRGB has been defined by the "Union
Europienne de Radiodiffusion" in 1970 and this new white reference for the
TV, the D65, was proposed as a CIE standard.
But that don't change the remainder of my answer.
