Sure. Its possible, a SpectroCam will do the job, and it is indeed more
effective than photo based targets for many natural media scans. But
definately to use a non-encapsulated pigment ink set, not Epson's pigments,
if you choose to use pigment to print your target, or the "metamerism" issue
will get you.
