Hiya Sam,

Fancy meeting you here :-)

What you are experiencing is Scum Dot. It is to do with the conversion
between a non profiled Pure Yellow and then a yellow with a profile
applied. Try it in Photoshop.create a Yellow box and then apply a Swop or
Euroscale colour profile to it you will notice that the yellow is now 96Y 3C
1M or something similar.

Have a look at the Getting reliable colour document I wrote(I can e-mail
another copy if you need it), it gives an idea as to what to do with the
applications and a general idea of what to tell the designers to do if they
want that specific colour..cos as you know I believe it should be largely
their responsibility.

I believe I saw somewhere previously on this list that Heidleberg PrintOpen
4 is better at the conversions.could someone verify that please?

Best wishes

James Foster
