I just recently set up two digital workstations at a location photo shoot.
Both monitors were calibrated to identical color temperatures and gammas
with the same instrument. The digital camera capture software (LightPhase
2.0.1) was set up with the same camera profile (in this case a canned
LightPhase profile), destination RGB profile (Adobe RGB 1998), and
rendering intent (perceptual/best). Captures on one station look fabulous
while captures on the second station have a strong yellow bias to them
(even after grey balancing on a MacBeth chart). On said station when "Apply
color management" is unchecked the preview isn't perfect, but the yellow
bias is gone. Both stations have tiled monitors, and even on the aux.
monitor the images display yellow, even when displayed through that
monitor's profile.
Is it possible for ColorSync to become corrupted on a system wide level?
The images even display yellow in Photoshop when converted from camera RGB
to our working space of Adobe RGB 1998. Could it be a bad (canned) camera
profile. I am at a loss as to what is happening here. Can profiles that
were at one time ok be corrupted and yeild wacky results?
