Display profile returns to default

I want to use my own calibrated display profile in ColorSync profiles. I
work in OSX 10.1.3

When I try to calibrate the display profile in display preferences the new
calibrated profile returns to the default. During calibration in expert mode
"No white point correction (native)" is checked. When I blank the box and
slide the white point to the desired level the white point changes. Then in
the last step of calibration I give the new profile a name but it doesn't
appear in the list of profiles. After closing preferences the profile and
the white point return to the undesirable default.

How can I keep my own calibrated display profile as a default?

Milan
