I am having an odd problem with Photoshop 6 -- whenever I rasterize
a Quark 4 or Illustrator 8 vector eps files, PS changes 100% black

space, the color I end up with changes -- which is really odd
because I'm working on a grayscale document.
The eps files are really simple -- black type or shapes, and I'm
rasterizing into grayscale. Here are the values what I get for the
different settings:
Color Management Off: 78%
Colorsync Workflow: 93%
Emulate Photoshop 4: 100%
Japan Prepress Defaults: 95%
Photoshop 5 default spaces: 100%
U.S. Prepress Defaults: 85%
Web Graphics Defaults: 78%
Am I missing some other setting somewhere? If not I guess I'll
revert to PS4 emulation. Although I'd like to use one of the more
modern settings in case we ever decide to get into color management,
I do need to have dependable, consistent color between applications.
What you're missing is that, in CMYK, 100K isn't black. One
workaround is to define 100K as a spot color...
