erasing that partition trashes all the user installed files,
like colorsync profiles
So... any reason not to move my user folder over to another hard drive
and
put an alias in it's current location?
I'm not sure if using an alias would work, maybe, but I've never tried
that. There is a way to have your user folder in another location
outside the "Users" folder. In Applications/Utilities find the app
NetInfo Manager, using that you can edit each user's home folder
location. As far as profiles go, you could create a folder of profiles
on your main non-boot volume then place an alias of that in one of your
profiles folder locations, like /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/.
