Hi Neil,
if I understand you correctly, ink is no question for your costumer

He will use the Small Gamut Inks of Lison and mot the original Epson Inks.
In this case you can use the cheaper SP9k from Epson. Do you know the Small
Gamut Inks? With this Inks you can't do any photo reproduction from original
RGB.

The Epson Pigmented Inks for SP5500, SP7500, SP9500 and SP10000CF are the
same. The difference is the Dotsize of the printers. The SP5500 has the
smallest Dot, the next one is the SP10000CF (both have variable Dotsize).
Finaly the SP7500 and SP9500 have the same Dotsize (the biggest one). the
usage of Black (for stabel Gray)is depending on the dotsize, small dot =
long black and big dot = short black.

I've read of a lot of issues here with the 2000P [which even Epson

Is the 9,500 as <bad> as the 7,500 on the Epson pigmented inks?
Yes!

depends on the lumination, if you use ICC-Color Management and stabel indoor
Lightconditions it is possible to get a good gray, but it takes many houres
to get it.
