Anybody know if have some rules to "retire" q60 targets?
Keep the targets in dark area without excessive heat and you'll minimize
color shifts and fading. Best approach is to yearly update the reference
file by using a spectrophotometer. Gretag's ProfileMaker and
Spectrolino/Spectroscan are by far the easiest way to accomplish this.

And about HCT targets, there are limits too?
All photographic targets will age with time.

profiling high end scanners?
The HCT target has more samples in the shadow regions than the normal IT8.

4x5 targets get better results than 35mm ?
No difference as long as the reference file is good. Shouldn't be a
appreciable difference between the 4x5 and 35mm emulsions.

At last, RelCol is better to use for scanner profiling?
Input profiles are always colorimetric. You will never have a perceptual or
saturation table available in input profiles.
