Maybe. It depends if the software is expecting a device link of a certain
size, or with certain information in it or not. I was actually about to
try doing this myself but haven't gotten around to it - as I wanted to
use Art Linkolator to make the device link (preserve black with scaling
feature), which should ship next week.

That won't work. Actually it's the companion application to Phasermatch.
You won't use Phasermatch itself. It's an application that has a basic
interface on it. It lists PPDs to modify and lists device link profiles
in the Colorsync Profiles folder. It's expecting an actual device link
with direct source to destination data - no PCS. A single output device
profile doesn't have the necessary information.
