Hello List,
I'm curious about monitor luminance. I am using PM4 to calibrate /
profile a Mitsubishi DP900u. After calibration with PM4 the monitor contrast
is at 100 and the brightness around 50, 6500k. I close the studo curtains
and dim the lights (cue Barry White) before taking any measurements. These
are the same conditions I view critical color work in as well. A luminance
level of 96 Cd/m2 is comfortable in said "proofing" conditions. I then build
a brofile at these setting and return to these settings for critical color
work. Often I adjust the 'software' brightness setting in measure tool to
accomodate lighting conditions during routine work.
Questions:
What luminance level are others using under "proofing" conditions? ( Barco
Ref Cal+ specs. 70 Cd/m2 calibrated / 120 Cd/m2 max. long term )
Is the profile I made at 85% MeasureTool brightness valid at 95%?
Does switching the brightness in MeasureTool "stress" the monitor in any way
that would require recalibration / new profile?
Thanks,
_jeff
