In MonacoPROFILER4.0, many improvements have been made to the editor
functionality. As you have noted, the new "fine-tune" features allow users
to edit specific output construction of color, also providing lightness and
saturation range control to customize the way changes will influence other
image colors. In addition to this, the "fine-tune" section also offers the
ability to work with grays. The gray tool provides the user with a gray
scale that corresponds with the table-size that was selected when building
the profile. When using this tool, the user can customize the specific CMYK
makeup on any of the "gray nodes" in the profile. As a result, users can
fully customize how a profile renders grays.
In the current release, profiles must be built using the 4.0 engine for the
editor functions to operate reliably. Profiles built with earlier versions
of MonacoPROFILER (including betas) may crash the editor. To work with older
profiles, use the "update profile" function in the Output branch of the
application. This will generate a new profile with full editor
compatibility.
Of course, if you don't have a full version, you will not be able make a new
profile. Consequently, you may see instability when evaluating the editor.
We will be posting a few sample profiles in the download section of our
web-site that will allow users to evaluate the new MonacoPROFILER editing
capabilities with full stability.
