I doubt it. Of all the changes made to the ICC format, very few of them
had anything to do with improving quality, or tackling the fundamental
flaws in the format (The way intent is treated independently of source
& destination gamut for instance). Mostly it's just tinkering for tinkerings
sake. The totally outrageous redefinition of 16 bit Lab encoding made
recently is a classic example! Meanwhile, simple but important
shortcomings of the format (such as not recording the TAC in the profile)
remain unaddressed. But don't get me started ...
