I am not sure it's initializing that were talking about. That was a poor
choice of words on my part. It's more like communicating that the monitor is
still there. Barco's have a fit if their serial cable can't communicate with
the monitor. The Barco's definitely initializes the monitor too with their
quick internal calibration on start-up. I don't think the Lacie's are that
sophisticated.
Just to make things interesting check out this monitor. Very much like a
Barco is some regards.
