OSX is driving me crazy with these profile issues (for display).
In a nutshell, I have a dual display setup. I have a profile from my Barco
(admittedly made under OS9). I'd really like to see it show up! I'd really
like to use it.
The issue was I couldn't get the OSX version of Imacon FlexColor (beta) and
Photoshop 7 to match previews. So I figure one or the other application is
out of sync with regard to the the "system profile."
PS7 is finding a profile called "Generic RGB Display" which is wrong. No way
of figuring out what FlexColor is using.
I go into the Display System preferences, click on Color and on the MAIN
display, I can see the Barco profile. On the 2nd display, it doesn't show up
at all. That's odd.
When I click on the Barco profile from the main display control panel, it
never sticks. I close and reopen and the profile always goes back to
"Generic RGB Display" which it appears is what Photoshop is using (I see it
in my Color Settings). So the question is, why can't I get my Barco display
profile to stick and why doesn't it show up on the 2nd display options when
picking profiles? I can't toss the "Generic RGB" profile (owned by Root...
That Root can really piss me off).
If I set EVERYTHING to use "Generic RGB Display" (Display AND ColorSycn),
the previews in both applications seem to match which is good. I starting to
wonder if the Barco profile is goofy. Not sure why the Display control panel
is so "confused" about profiles with a dual display setup.
