When we started using the Macbeth for profiling with Franz everyone was
using an IT8. The Macbeth was out there, it just was not being used for
profiling.
As for big targets and lots of patches, we think that the standard Macbeth
will get most shooters 85-90% of what they want in a profile. For many of
them that will be all they ever want or need. For those of us who shoot
really color critical stuff a high patch count glossy target will yield that
last 10 percent.
