Hi,
I'm new on the block and dutch. My english causes me some trouble writing
this. I have been following this list for quit some time and i am impressed
by the knowledge.
May be someone can help me with the following problem:
On my calibrated AS2020 with silverfast 5.5 (calibrated with the kodak it-8
target) i can scan the normal range of reflectives, regarding to capturing
highlight and shadow detail whithout any problems. However..i had to scan a
aquarel which is not a glossy material like the kodak IT-8 and has other
colorpigments. The result was a (pre)scan that showed clipping in the
highlights. I tried rgb scanning, 16-bit raw etc. I even tried to
recalibrate the scanner by turning up the intensity of the lamp and
performing an IT-8 cal. Then during the next scan i brought the intensity of
the lamp back to its normal value. Wrong!!? it did not work anyway. In the
end a scan in Lab-modus turned out to contain the best information?
I'm wondering if there exists anything like a calibration model that i can
use for calibrating my scanner in case of scanning models like aquarel or
other matte reflectives.
