You could invest in a GCA Lab-Ref calibration reference. It has a bunch of
calibrated colors that are traceable to NIST. These colors are measured by
an independent calibration testing service.
With one of these, you can easily tell how off is your instrument. Just do a
search for Graphic Communications Association or Lab-Ref or T-Ref in
www.google.com
