Did you see this recent post by Jon Gary from Kodak on Galbraith's forum?
It was far down in a lengthy discussion of Photo Desk, but it pretty much
nails down why you've had problems:

Their variable "secret sauce" is bound to wreak havoc on any attempts to
profile through PhotoDesk. It sounds like they are responding to pleas to
change this but probably not terribly soon.
