I would
submit that it's impossible for you to profile a Kodak DCS 770 running
Kodak's PictureDesk software. I don't care HOW you light the target or what
software you use. The issue is the way the host software mucks with the
data. But I'd be thrilled if you could demonstrate SCIENTIFICALLY that this
> view isn't correct.
Sorry I couldnt respond more frequently to all that is going on
here.......... I was on location with grooups of fashion
photographers.
I'd like to respond that I had much success profiling the following
camera types this week all with the same software and
technique..................
Kodak 760, thru PictureDesk, astoundingly superior results to
ProPhoto RGB, using "standard RGB selections"
Nikon D1X, thru PS
Canon D30
All using the same technique. huh, something is working.
Furthermore, major applause here to Mark Buckner for aiming the
criticism accurately.
Good cameras and software "COMBINED" make for a much more easilly
achieved good profile. Less quality cameras (with poor application
software) make it more challenging, but yes it can be done, and done
reliably.
All take care
