I am using Monaco EZ color for creating Device profiles for my laser

I want my laser printer to emulate the commercial press. I am printing
the same image in both the commercial press and on the laser printer,
with the same profiles.
I understand that a laser printer can never offer the same print
quality of a commercial press, what is the accepted tolerance between
both the printed images should be if Delta E is measured?
Rahul,
Please do yourself a favour and forget this idea.
A laser printer is about as unstable as it gets. A laser printer most
probably has a gamut which is too small, too. Get ColorThink from
http://www.chromix.com, build profiles, and look.
Secondly, a device link profile is really complicated. Because
QuarkXPress does NOT convert EPS and PDF using the destination CMYK
profile if you use the Quark CMS, and does NOT convert either when
you don't use the Quark CMS, you are very likely getting non-CMYK
objects in your PostScript and PDF. A device link profile will ONLY
look for objects in the SAME color model as the data space of the
device link profile itself. This is why the iQueue manual recommends
that you should always load device links for both CMYK, RGB and Gray
when color managing PostScript, EPS and PDF cf the on-line manual at
http://www.gretagmacbeth.com.
The next revision of the cookbooks tell you how to use the FOGRA ISO
control strip to verify that your proof print is a match to ISO
standards-based printing conditions.
