Sounds like the scanning software isn't ICC savvy. That is, it's throwing
raw RGB to the screen which isn't how Photoshop operates. Photoshop and
other ICC savvy applications use the display profile to compensate for the
kind of RGB or CMYK you intent to scan using a profile tag for the file.
It's common for scanner software that isn't ICC savvy (which is bad) not to
match a preview in Photoshop.
