I met Dr. Hell in 1987, at a grand party his company put on in
Chicago. He was sharp as a tack, and had an attractive young lady at
his side! He contributed a great deal to our industry. I'm glad he
lived so long, and enjoyed his retirement years.

Wasn't Dr. Hell the inventor of the electronic analog scanner using
photomultiplier tubes and ocilliscope? eg. Hell 286.
If someone could elaborate on this, Please Do!
