LinoColor 5.1 Elite / LinoColor 5.1 Full Versioin and earlier does
not embed and supports both D65 LabLH small gamut and D50 ICC Lab
large gamut (... hence many and long threads on the List while folks
ported to LinoColor 6.0). Also these two version still have an
internal default concept of RGB and CMYK.
LinoColor 6.0 Elite / LinoColor 6.0 Full Version were fully ICC when
we were still working with Photoshop 5.5. UI features from LinoColor
6.0 were integrated into Photoshop 6.0, notably the working space
read-out in the image window (: after some rather long mails, too
-:)).
NewColor 7 likewise embeds, and supports EPS Lab and EPS RGB with
embedded ICC profile, alongside EPS CMYK with embedded profile and
EPS DCS with embedded profile introduced in LinoColor 6.0.
Other applications still think of EPS DCS as entirely device
dependent and do not embed the separation profile, which means that
proofing DCS separations is down to guesstimating the profile to
assign as source. LinoColor and NewColor don't guesstimate the source
(... again the subject of longish threads -:)). To check, extract the
embedded profile from the EPS main file.
So again ... let's see the reference scanning implementation return to the Mac.
