Let's say one scans from SilverFast with calibration disabled -- the result

So, regarding this gamma setting:

A good scanner calibration cannot be a static relationship. That
is why colour matching with a CMM and an ICC-profile is a dynamic
relation. That is why calibration is independent of the gamma setting.
How is SilverFast avoiding to be influenced by different gamma settings?
SilverFast is internally using the raw data coming from the scanner
to do the calibration. SIlverFast can also write out raw data (48bit)
with ICC-profile matching.

There are indeed calibration software programs that work with a fixed
white and black point and a fixed gamma. These programs will
inevitably have problems, when large changes of gamma, black or white
point occur.
