In the SP5000 if you do anything but a very short black, you get a
noticeable graininess; in the 10ps, you can do a medium black without such
graininess. Does a long black also work without being too grainy?
Black generation will influence not only stability of the colors, but also
ink consumption.
I've found a set of Epson cartridges in the SP5000 to last for about 200 A3+
pages, 80% covered with photos, but not particularly dark. Like for example
some of the Best testforms.
I've got no idea of the consumption on the 10ps. Ulf, do you have some
comparison?
Also, of course the 10ps gamut is larger than SP5500; but what about
compared to the SP5000 gamut?
