This is something that needs to be emphasized to clients: Gretag Macbeth's
intent is clearly to upsell to the ProfileMaker Pro option. Not only are the
EyeOne software's CMYK settings fixed, but the limited patch scheme for RGB
profiles offers results with less accurate neutrals on many devices than
other software choices. Check the Seybold New York Color Day transcripts for
the comparison of the EyeOne spectro using the EyeOne Match software, and
using ColorVision ProfilerPRO. The speaker there (and it was *not* me this
year, I was at PMA in Orlando at the time) states emphatically that the
ProfilerPRO results are superior, and are most noticably better in gray
balance. The irony is that the ColorVision software in conjuction with an
EyeOne spectro costs significantly less than the EyeOne software/hardware
bundle, so its not a matter of needing to spend more to get more.
