Hello all,
In the past, I have been quite successful to calibrate, tweak and
sync a couple of LaCie Monitors -- thanks to the great knowledge
of this list.
Now I have to calibrate and match an Iiyama 8221 as close as possible
to those LaCies ... IMHO of cause needs hardware tweaking. Available
controls are:
- R cut off
- G cut off
- B cut off
- Blue drive
- Red drive
-*No* Green drive
No problem about the drive controls, though obviously there's less
room for tweaking the Iiamas white point, I was able to match to
the old non-flat 21" LaCie (which is reference) easily.
But the shadows refuse to match in any way :-/ I have tried adjusting
cut offs, but got lost in the woods ... I'm still unable to get a full
understanding of cut off tweaking -- therefore now back to factory
defaults.
I have a foggy remembrance of somebody@iiyama posting to the list
the benefits of cut off controls ... in theory, sounding reasonable to me
at that time ... but now, in practice, I'm unable to gain any
advantages from cut off controls.
btw, I'm using the Blue Eye sensor and accompanying software.
Any pointers welcome how to get the Iiyama behave ... well,as
the LaCies won't behave, by design -- the Iiyama will must do ...
TIA,
-Thomas
