I agree...and I don't think you would really see any advantage to
converting from sRGB to Adobe RGB (1998) in Photoshop. If it makes you
feel
better bringing it in to that larger editing space, fine...but I don't
think you'll get anything in the way of gamut "expansion". I don't think
that the fact a camera only shoots in sRGB is criteria for avoiding it.
Most of my images will be converted to CMYK for publication and so I
would not consider using sRGB.
As a mac user it appears I will have to wait for Bibble to come out with
a raw .CRW conversion program for the D60 or change to Nikon.
